The 33-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada native stated a few weeks ago that he and Joe Gibbs Racing were nearing a contract extension, which would likely end up being at least a three-year contract extension. The last time he signed a contract extension with the team was in November of 2015.
Busch has now indeed signed a contract extension to continue driving the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. While the details of this contract extension have not been revealed, it is, in fact, a multi-year contract extension that will likely keep him with the team for at least three more seasons.
Joe Gibbs Racing also signed a multi-year contract extension with Mars, Incorporated to keep the confectionery giant as the primary sponsor of Busch’s #18 Toyota. The company has been the primary sponsor or his #18 Toyota since he began driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.
Here is what Busch had to say about signing this multi-year contract extension with Joe Gibbs Racing and about his continued partnership with Mars, Incorporated, according to NASCAR.
"“I’m proud and honored to continue to compete for Joe Gibbs Racing and Mars. Racing for more than a decade with such an iconic team and sponsor has been incredible, and knowing that we can continue this winning relationship is very special.”"
