Having earned three NASCAR victories in the last two weeks, it appears to be only a matter of time before Kyle Busch breaks the all-time NASCAR wins record.

Entering the 2019 NASCAR season, Kyle Busch had recorded a total of 194 career victories across NASCAR’s top three series. He entered the season with 51 career Cup Series victories, a total that ranks 11th on the all-time Cup Series wins list, as well as an all-time record 92 career Xfinity Series victories and 51 career Truck Series victories, a total that was tied for the all-time Truck Series wins record.

While Busch, who is a full-time Cup Series driver and is only allowed to compete in seven Xfinity Series races and five Truck Series races each season because of the fact that he has competed on a full-time basis in the Cup Series for more than five seasons, has not yet won a Cup Series race this season, his career NASCAR win total has already grown to 197, and the month of March has only just begun.

Busch has won all three of the Xfinity Series and Truck Series races in which he has competed so far in 2019. He won the Truck Series race, the Ultimate Tailgating 200, at Atlanta Motor Speedway before winning the Truck Series race, the Strat 200, and the Xfinity Series race, the Boyd Gaming 300, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway the following weekend.

Busch entered the season trailing only Richard Petty on the all-time NASCAR wins list. Petty earned 200 victories over the course of his career in the sport, and he earned all of these victories in the Cup Series, as he never competed in the Xfinity Series or the Truck Series.

Even though he has only competed in six races across the Cup Series, the Xfinity Series and the Truck Series so far this season, Busch has already halved the distance from his career NASCAR win total to Petty’s. After entering the season trailing this total by six victories, he now trails it by only three victories.

As a full-time Cup Series driver, Busch is set to compete in each of the remaining 33 races on this year’s Cup Series schedule. He is also set to compete in six more Xfinity Series races and three more Truck Series races throughout the season.

Before the 2019 season ends, Busch is set to compete in the Xfinity Series races at ISM Raceway on Saturday, March 9, Auto Club Speedway on Saturday, March 16, Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, March 30, Watkins Glen International on Saturday, August 3, Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, August 16 and Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 7.

In addition, he is set to compete in the Truck Series races at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, March 23, Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, March 29 and Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, May 17.

After earning three victories in six races, can Busch earn three victories in 42 races to tie Petty’s all-time record? Can he earn four victories in these 42 races to break this record?

Especially considering the fact that Busch has not earned fewer than four Cup Series victories in a single season since he earned only one victory in the 2014 season as well as the fact that he has not earned fewer than seven combined victories in the Cup Series, the Xfinity Series and the Truck Series in a single season since he earned only one Cup Series victory and no victories in either of the other two series in the 2012 season, it appears as though it is only a matter of time before he becomes the winningest driver in NASCAR history.
