There will be no shortage of IndyCar drivers competing in this year’s Indianapolis 500, as 33 drivers have already been confirmed for this race.

The 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 is not scheduled to take place until Sunday, May 26, but 33 drivers have already been confirmed for this year’s edition of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”, meaning that for every additional entry in the sixth race of the 17-race 2019 IndyCar season, one more driver will be bumped from the field.

The entry list total reached 33 drivers for the race that features the iconic “field of 33” each year when Dale Coyne Racing confirmed that James Davison is set to drive the #33 Honda in it this year.

Aside of Davison and the 20 full-time drivers, who you can see listed here, 12 other drivers have been confirmed for this year’s running of the 200-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana.

Several of these drivers are part-time drivers while several of them are Indy 500-only drivers.

Two of the part-time drivers are Ed Carpenter Racing teammates Ed Carpenter and Ed Jones. Carpenter is the full-time oval race driver of the #20 Chevrolet while Jones is the full-time road and street course race driver of the #20 Chevrolet. While Carpenter is set to drive the #20 Chevrolet in the Indy 500, Jones is set to drive the #64 Chevrolet through a partnership involving Ed Carpenter Racing and Scuderia Corsa.

Two more of the part-time drivers are Carlin teammates Charlie Kimball and Patricio O’Ward. They are set to share the seat of the #23 Chevrolet throughout the 2019 season. While Kimball is set to drive it in the Indy 500, O’Ward is set to drive for the team in a car that has not yet been numbered.

DragonSpeed’s Ben Hanley and Meyer Shank Racing’s Jack Harvey are two of the other part-time drivers who are set to compete in this year’s Indy 500. They are set to drive the #81 Chevrolet and the #60 Honda, respectively. Team Penske’s Helio Castroneves is the other, as he is set to drive the #3 Chevrolet in this race, but he is only set to compete in one other race throughout the season.

Aside of Davison, the five drivers who are entered for this year’s Indy 500 and are Indy 500-only drivers are Andretti Autosport’s Conor Daly, Clauson-Marshall Racing’s Pippa Mann, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s Sage Karam, McLaren Racing’s Fernando Alonso and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Jordan King. They are set to drive the #25 Honda, the #39 Chevrolet, the #24 Chevrolet, the #66 Chevrolet and the #42 Honda, respectively.
