By earning his 201st career NASCAR victory this weekend, Kyle Busch set the new all-time NASCAR wins record, which is poised to stand for a long, long time.

Richard Petty’s all-time NASCAR wins record of 200 stood for several decades. But while Petty still owns the all-time Cup Series wins record, as all 200 of his NASCAR victories were Cup Series victories, and this record will likely never fall, his all-time NASCAR wins record of 200 has been broken.

Kyle Busch, who drives full-time in the Cup Series for Joe Gibbs Racing and part-time in the Xfinity Series and Truck Series for Joe Gibbs Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsports, respectively, earned the 201st victory of his NASCAR career in Saturday’s Truck Series race, the TruNorth Global 250, at Martinsville Speedway.

Busch’s career Cup Series win total of 53 ranks 11th on the all-time Cup Series wins list whereas his career Xfinity Series win total of 94 is the all-time Xfinity Series record and his career Truck Series win total of 54 is the all-time Truck Series record.

Nevertheless, Busch is now the winningest driver in NASCAR history with 201 career victories. Will his record ever be broken?

Simply put, Busch’s NASCAR wins record is here to stay. It is poised to stand for at least the next several decades, if not forever.

Aside of Petty, nobody has a career win total across the Cup Series, Xfinity Series and Truck Series that is even relatively close to Busch’s. Only two other drivers aside of Petty have career NASCAR win totals that are more than half of Busch’s.

These two drivers, David Pearson and Kevin Harvick, are tied for third on the all-time NASCAR wins list with 106 victories each. Harvick, like Busch, is an active driver, but he is also more than nine years older than Busch.

The next highest active driver on the all-time NASCAR wins list is Jimmie Johnson, who has earned 83 career Cup Series victories and just one career Xfinity Series victory for a total of 84 career NASCAR victories, a total that ranks 10th on this list. He, like Harvick, is more than nine years older than Busch, and he hasn’t won a race in nearly two years.

In terms of drivers who are close to Busch’s age, Brad Keselowski is the highest ranking driver on the all-time NASCAR wins list. The 35-year-old Rochester Hills, Michigan native has earned 28 career Cup Series victories, 39 career Xfinity Series victories and one career Truck Series victory for a total of 68 career NASCAR victories, a total that is tied for 12th on this list.

The driver with the best chance, albeit an extremely small chance, to at least make somewhat of a run at Busch’s all-time NASCAR wins record is Joey Logano. The 28-year-old Middletown, Connecticut native has earned 22 career Cup Series victories, 30 career Xfinity Series victories and one career Truck Series victories for a total of 53 career NASCAR victories, a total that ranks 19th on the all-time NASCAR wins list.

To put it bluntly, don’t expect to see a name other than Kyle Busch at the top of the all-time NASCAR wins list anytime soon, if ever again.
