A total of 40 drivers are set to fill the field for the 10th race of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season, the GEICO 500, at Talladega Superspeedway.

For only one of the first nine races on the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule has the entry list been full. This race was the season opener, the Daytona 500, at Daytona International Speedway, which is a race that has typically featured an overflowing entry list that results in drivers being bumped from the field.

The entry list for this Sunday’s race, the GEICO 500, at Talladega Superspeedway is not overflowing, but it does feature 40 drivers, which is the maximum number of drivers allowed to compete in a Cup Series race.

Among the 40 drivers who are set to compete in the 188-lap race around the four-turn, 2.66-mile (4.281-kilometer) high-banked Talladega Superspeedway oval in Lincoln, Alabama are 33 full-time drivers and seven part-time drivers.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

Of the 33 full-time drivers who are set to compete in this race, only Premium Motorsports’ Ross Chastain is ineligible to score points in the Cup Series. He is also a full-time Xfinity Series driver, and he is eligible to score points in that series instead. Of the seven part-time drivers who are set to compete in this race, four have competed in at least one other Cup Series race so far this season while the other three have not.

The four part-time drivers who are set to compete in this race and have competed in at least one other race so far this season are Premium Motorsports’ Reed Sorenson, Petty Ware Racing’s Cody Ware, Beard Motorsports’ Brendan Gaughan and Gaunt Brothers Racing’s Parker Kligerman.

The three part-time drivers who are set to compete in this race but have not competed in at least one other race so far this season are Rick Ware Racing’s Stanton Barrett, Spire Motorsports’ Justin Haley and XCI Racing’s Jeffrey Earnhardt.

While it will not matter much considering the fact that nobody will be bumped from the field, it is worth noting that Ware, Barrett and Haley are set to drive for chartered teams in this race while Sorenson, Gaughan, Kligerman and Earnhardt are not.

Here is a list of the 40 drivers who are set to compete in the 2019 GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
