Four drivers are set to be sent to the rear of the field for the start of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season’s 11th race, the Gander RV 400, at Dover International Speedway.

The 11th race on the 36-race 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule, the Gander RV 400, was scheduled to take place at Dover International Speedway yesterday afternoon, but rain washed away those initial plans. As a result, the race is scheduled to take place this afternoon.

The cars that failed pre-race inspection ahead of yesterday’s scheduled running of the race, however, are still set to be sent to the rear of the field at the start of this afternoon’s running of it.

Four cars failed pre-race inspection multiple times ahead of the 400-lap race around the four-turn, 1.0-mile (1.609-kilometer) high-banked Dover International Speedway oval in Dover, Delaware.

These four cars belong to Hendrick Motorsports’ Alex Bowman, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Martin Truex Jr., JTG Daugherty Racing rookie Ryan Preece and Front Row Motorsports rookie Matt Tifft. As a result, these four drivers are all set to be sent to the back of the 37-car field before the start of this race.

The cars of Bowman, Truex Jr. and Preece all failed pre-race inspection twice. As a result, they have also been docked 15 minutes of practice time for Saturday night’s race at Kansas Speedway. Tifft’s car failed it three times. As a result, he must also serve a drive-through penalty once today’s race gets underway. He has also been docked 30 minutes of practice time for the race at Kansas Speedway.

Bowman originally qualified in fifth place for this race in his #88 Chevrolet while Truex Jr. originally qualified in 13th in his #19 Toyota. Preece originally qualified in 29th in his #47 Chevrolet while Tifft originally qualified in 32nd in his #36 Ford. These four drivers are now set to start the race in 34th, 35th, 36th and 37th, respectively.
