A total of 40 drivers are set to compete in the 13th race on the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule, the Coca-Cola 600, at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway marks the beginning of the second third of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule, as it is the 13th race of the 36-race season. This race is scheduled to take place on Memorial Day Sunday, May 26 under the lights.

A total of 40 drivers are set to compete in this 400-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Charlotte Motor Speedway oval in Concord, North Carolina, the race that is 100 miles longer than any other race on the schedule.

So far this season, only three races have featured full fields of 40 drivers. However, two of the last three races have done so. After the season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway featured 40 drivers back in mid-February, the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway and the Digital Ally 400 at Kansas Speedway also recently did so in late April and mid-May, respectively.

Of the 40 drivers who are set to compete in this Sunday evening’s race, 31 are full-time drivers who are eligible to earn points in the Cup Series while two are full-time drivers who are ineligible to do so. The other seven drivers who are set to compete in this race are part-time drivers, and of these seven part-time drivers, three are set to drive for chartered teams while the other four are set to drive for non-chartered teams.

Petty Ware Racing’s Cody Ware, Rick Ware Racing’s Bayley Currey and Spire Motorsports’ Quin Houff are set to drive for chartered teams in this race while Premium Motorsports’ Reed Sorenson, Rick Ware Racing’s B.J. McLeod, MBM Motorsports’ Joey Gase and Gaunt Brothers Racing’s Parker Kligerman are set to drive for non-chartered teams.

That said, for this particular race, it does not matter whether these drivers drive for chartered teams or non-chartered teams as far as qualifying for the race is concerned. The maximum driver total for each race is 40 and therefore nobody will be bumped from the field with 40 drivers on the entry list for this one, so in this case, there is no advantage of driving for a chartered team.

Here is a list of the 40 drivers who are set to compete in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
