NASCAR Cup Series: 2019 FireKeepers Casino 400 entry list
By Asher Fair
A total of 36 drivers are set to compete in the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway, tying the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season-low.
Two of the first 14 races of the 36-race 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season featured only 36 drivers. These two races were the race at ISM Raceway in mid-March and the race at Martinsville Speedway in late March, the season’s fourth and sixth races.
This Sunday afternoon’s race, the FireKeepers Casino 400, at Michigan International Speedway is set to become the third.
Just 36 drivers are set to compete in this 200-lap race around the four-turn, 2.0-mile (3.219-kilometer) Michigan International Speedway oval in Brooklyn, Michigan.

Of these 36 drivers, 32 are full-time drivers. Of these 32 full-time drivers, only StarCom Racing’s Landon Cassill is not eligible to score points in the Cup Series.
Typically two full-time drivers, the other being Premium Motorsports’ Ross Chastain, compete in Cup Series races without being eligible to score points in the Cup Series, but Chastain is not set to compete in this Sunday afternoon’s race.
Chastain, who has not missed a race all season long, is set to be replaced by Garrett Smithley behind the wheel of the #15 Chevrolet in this race. Smithley has competed in three races so far this season, all as the driver of the #77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet.
This is the case because of the fact Chastain has now declared for Truck Series points after previously having declared for Xfinity Series points. The Xfinity Series race this weekend is set to take place at Michigan International Speedway, but the Truck Series race this weekend is set to take place at Texas Motor Speedway.
The other three part-time drivers who are set to compete in this race alongside Smithley are Petty Ware Racing’s Kyle Weatherman, Rick Ware Racing’s Josh Bilicki and Spire Motorsports’ Quin Houff. All four of the part-time drivers who are entered into this race are set to drive for chartered teams.
Here is a list of the 36 drivers who are set to compete in the 2019 FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway.
