Daniel Ricciardo was issued two five-second time penalties following the Formula 1 race at Circuit Paul Ricard, the French Grand Prix, dropping him from seventh to 11th place.

Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo initially finished the 21-race 2019 Formula 1 season’s eighth race, the French Grand Prix, at Circuit Paul Ricard in seventh place after an intense battle on the final lap with several other top 10 finishes.

However, following the conclusion of this 53-lap race around the 15-turn, 3.63-mile (5.842-kilometer) Circuit Paul Ricard road course in Le Castellet, France, Ricciardo was issued two five-second time penalties for leaving the track to gain an advantage over his competitors during this intense battle.

As a result, the 29-year-old Australian was stripped of his seventh place finish and the six points that he earned by recording it. Instead, he was officially scored in 11th and did not score any points.
