Which 38 drivers are slated to take the green flag in the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season’s 17th race, the Camping World 400, at Chicagoland Speedway?

A total of 38 drivers are set to compete in the 17th race on the 36-race 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule, the Camping World 400, at Chicagoland Speedway. Of the 16 races that have already been contested this season, five featured more than 38 drivers, three featured exactly 38 drivers and eight featured fewer than 38 drivers.

Of the 38 drivers who are set to compete in this 267-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Chicagoland Speedway oval in Joliet, Illinois, only 36 are confirmed, as the drivers of the #51 Petty Ware Racing Ford and the #52 Rick Ware Racing Chevrolet have not yet been named.

Of the 36 drivers who have been confirmed for this race, 33 are full-time drivers, and StarCom Racing’s Landon Cassill and Premium Motorsports’ Ross Chastain are the only two of these 33 full-time drivers who are not eligible to score points in the Cup Series.

With only 38 drivers on the entry list for this race and a maximum field size of 40, everyone who shows up to qualify for the race should theoretically be successful in doing so. As a result, there is hardly any significance or advantage of driving for a chartered team as opposed to a non-chartered team, just like the case has been for most races so far this season.

That said, it is worth noting that of the three part-time drivers who are set to compete in this race, one is set to drive for a chartered team. Spire Motorsports’ Quin Houff is set to do so. Whichever drivers end up being confirmed as the drivers of the #51 Petty Ware Racing Ford and the #52 Rick Ware Racing Chevrolet will be set to drive for chartered teams as well. Premium Motorsports’ Reed Sorenson and Rick Ware Racing’s B.J. McLeod are the two drivers who are set to drive for non-chartered teams in this race.

Here is a list of the 38 drivers who are set to compete in the 2019 Camping World 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.
