Valtteri Bottas took his series-high fourth pole position of the 2019 Formula 1 season for the season’s 10th race, the British Grand Prix, at Silverstone Circuit.

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport’s Valtteri Bottas had not taken a pole position since the 2019 Formula 1 season’s fifth race, the Spanish Grand Prix, entering the qualifying session for the season’s 10th race, the British Grand Prix, at Silverstone Circuit.

Bottas took the pole position for this 52-lap race around the 18-turn, 3.661-mile (5.892-kilometer) Silverstone Circuit road course in Silverstone in part Northamptonshire and part Buckinghamshire in England, United Kingdom by recording a top lap time of 85.093 seconds (154.885 miles per hour) in the third and final round of qualifying for the race.

He staved off Hamilton, the hometown hero, by just 0.006 seconds (0.011 miles per hour) to take the pole position for this race, as Hamilton qualified in second place with a top lap time of 85.099 seconds (154.874 miles per hour).
