NASCAR Cup Series Team Power Rankings after 2019 Quaker State 400
By Asher Fair
With the first race of the second half of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season, the Quaker State 400, in the books, how do the NASCAR Cup Series Team Power Rankings look?
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kurt Busch earned his first victory of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season by winning the first race of the second half of the 36-race season, the Quaker State 400, at Kentucky Speedway.
Busch’s victory in this 267-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Kentucky Speedway oval in Sparta, Kentucky was Chip Ganassi’s first victory of the season. In fact, it was their first victory since Kyle Larson won the race at Richmond Raceway in September of 2017.
Chip Ganassi Racing are now one of five teams that have won at least one race this season. Busch passed Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch for the victory on the race’s final lap, preventing Joe Gibbs Racing from earning their series-high 11th victory of the season.

Team Penske still sit comfortably in second place on the season’s wins list behind Joe Gibbs Racing with five victories. Team Penske’s Joey Logano took the lead late from Kyle Busch, but following the restart, he was swallowed up by several drivers and ended up finishing all the way back in seventh place.
Aside of these three teams, only two other teams have won any races this year. Hendrick Motorsports have won two races while Spire Motorsports won a race in shocking fashion, even for a huge underdog. Hendrick Motorsports and Spire Motorsports won the last two races heading into the Quaker State 400, meaning that after Chevrolet had earned just one victory in the last 20 races going back to last season, they have now earned three consecutive victories.
