Chase Elliott took the pole position for the Go Bowling at The Glen at Watkins Glen International, the 22nd race of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott took his third pole position of the 36-race 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season by taking the pole position for the 22nd race on the schedule, the Go Bowling at The Glen, at Watkins Glen International.

Elliott took the pole position for this 90-lap race around the eight-turn, 2.454-mile (3.949-kilometer) Watkins Glen International road course in Watkins Glen, New York by recording a top lap time of 69.287 seconds (127.504 miles per hour) in the second and final qualifying session for the race in his #9 Chevrolet.

The defending winner of this race is set to start alongside teammate William Byron on the front row, as Byron qualified in second place in his #24 Chevrolet.

Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. were the highest qualifying Toyota drivers for this race. They qualified in third and fourth place in their #18 Toyota and #19 Toyota, respectively. Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kyle Larson rounded out the top five by qualifying in fifth in his #42 Chevrolet.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin qualified in sixth place in his #11 Toyota ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kurt Busch and Hendrick Motorsports’ Jimmie Johnson in seventh and eighth in their #1 Chevrolet and #48 Chevrolet, respectively.

Stewart-Haas Racing’s Aric Almirola was the highest qualifying Ford driver for this race. He qualified in ninth place in his #10 Ford. Team Penske’s Brad Keselowski rounded out the top 10 by qualifying in 10th in his #2 Ford.

Front Row Motorsports’ Michael McDowell and Roush Fenway Racing’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. were the slowest two drivers who advanced to the second and final round of qualifying for this race. They qualified in 11th and 12th place in their #34 Ford and #17 Ford, respectively.
