A total of 38 drivers are set to compete in the second race of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, the Federated Auto Parts 400, at Richmond Raceway.

After a dramatic 2019 NASCAR Cup Series playoff opener at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this past Sunday, the second of three races of the round of 16 is scheduled to take place at Richmond Raceway this Saturday night.

This race, the Federated Auto Parts 400, is the second race at Richmond Raceway this season, making Richmond Raceway the sixth of 13 tracks on the schedule to feature two races. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Martin Truex Jr. earned his first victory as a Joe Gibbs Racing driver at the track back in mid-April.

A total of 38 drivers are set to compete in this Saturday night’s 400-lap race around the four-turn, 0.75-mile (1.207-kilometer) Richmond Raceway oval in Richmond, Virginia, including 33 full-time drivers and five part-time drivers.

Of the 33 full-time drivers who are slated to compete in this race, 31 are eligible to score Cup Series points and 16 are still championship eligible having qualified for the playoffs. Of these 16 playoff drivers, 12 will advance to the round of 12 while four will be eliminated following the next two races when the round of 16 comes to a close.

Of the five part-time drivers who are slated to compete in this race, three are set to drive for chartered teams while two are not, although all 38 entries are guaranteed a spot in this race since the entry list is not full (40 drivers).

Set to drive for chartered teams are Petty Ware Racing’s Austin Theriault, Rick Ware Racing’s Garrett Smithley and Spire Motorsports’ Reed Sorenson. Set to drive for non-chartered teams are Premium Motorsports’ Quin Houff and Rick Ware Racing’s Spencer Boyd.
