Six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady revealed, while praising soon-to-be six-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, that he has “kind of” gone to F1 races.

The NFL’s lone six-time Super Bowl champion, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, offered high praise of Formula 1‘s Lewis Hamilton, who has an amazing opportunity to secure what would be his sixth Formula 1 world championship in this Sunday’s United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas.

Ahead of this 56-lap race around the 20-turn, 3.427-mile (5.515-kilometer) Circuit of the Americas road course in Austin, Texas, Brady revealed that he has followed Hamilton’s journey for a little bit. Interestingly, he was asked about it during a Patriots press conference in the question that opened up the session.

In doing so, he made an interesting and somewhat comical claim that he has “kind of” gone to Formula 1 races before.

Here is what Brady had to say, according to ESPN.

"“I’ve followed him for a little bit. I’ve kind of gone to a few of those races and those guys are super talented.”"

Not to be overly critical of Brady’s word choice, but how do you “kind of” go to a Formula 1 race?

Brady has, in fact, attended select Formula 1 races in the past. Naturally, the races he has attended did not take place during the NFL season, as he is still competing in the league to this day as a 20-year veteran.

He has attended these races as a brand ambassador for TAG Heuer. As such, he was effectively there with Red Bull Racing, as the team formerly had a partnership with the Swiss luxury manufacturing company.

This partnership included the team running TAG Heuer-branded power units supplied by Renault and ended after lat year when the team announced a switch from Renault engines to Honda engines.

Most recently, Brady attended the Monaco Grand Prix in 2018, where he threw this touchdown pass to race winner Daniel Ricciardo, who then drove for the Milton Keynes-based team.

Of interest, Ricciardo has yet to receive interest from the New England Patriots after a nice punt to return the ball to the future Hall of Fame quarterback.
