Lewis Hamilton is officially a six-time Formula 1 world champion following the 2019 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas.

While he didn’t win the United States Grand Prix, the 19th race on the 21-race 2019 Formula 1 schedule, at Circuit of the Americas, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport’s Lewis Hamilton did enough in it to secure his sixth world title, which is his fifth in the last six years and his third in a row.

It was teammate Valtteri Bottas who won the race to secure his fourth victory of the season, a mark that only Hamilton has reached with 10 victories of his own so far this year.

How did Bottas’s victory and Hamilton’s championship-securing second place finish in this 56-lap race around the 20-turn, 3.427-mile (5.515-kilometer) Circuit of the Americas road course in Austin, Texas affect the Formula 1 Power Rankings?

These Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings were calculated using a formula, which you can see here. But before they are revealed, take a look below at some of the highlights of this edition of these rankings.

Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings Analysis

The top three saw no changes in these formulated Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings, which was no surprise based on where they finished in the United States Grand Prix and where they sit in the driver standings. However, only two of the next nine drivers held station.

In total, five drivers moved up and four dropped in these rankings. Surprisingly, the driver who dropped the most spots (two) was the only driver who dropped yet scored points in the United States Grand Prix.

Of the five drivers who moved up, all five moved up by one position, but only four did so as a result of point-scoring efforts.

Now let’s get started with the rankings.
