In an exclusive interview with Beyond the Flag, NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney said that he would at least try out several other forms of racing.

One subject that often comes up when it comes to NASCAR drivers, or really drivers in any major racing series, is whether or not they are interested in any other racing series, and whether or not that interest would lead them to potentially trying out those other series.

In the case of Team Penske NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Blaney, that is also true.

Blaney has been competing in the Cup Series as a full-time driver since the 2016 season, and he has been competing in the series on some level since 2014. He has been competing in NASCAR since 2011 when he competed in races in K&N Pro Series East, K&N Pro Series West and the ARCA Racing Series.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

While the 26-year-old has not had much experience in racing outside of NASCAR over the course of the last decade, he told Beyond the Flag that he does have interest in racing outside of NASCAR.

“I do,” stated Blaney. “People in motorsports, you’re always interested in other forms of motorsports, and different cars. They’re kind of fascinating (to me) because not all the cars are very similar at all. From our stock cars – let’s say to IndyCar or F1 or V8 Supercars in Australia, they’re all way different.”

Team Penske field entries in several series outside of the Cup Series and Xfinity Series, including IndyCar, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Virgin Australian Supercars Championship, so a future entry for Blaney outside of NASCAR isn’t out of the question.

Blaney, who has previously stated that he would consider running the Memorial Day Double, added that he would be willing to try out pretty much anything with four wheels.

“So drivers want to feel how different they are. Just what little tendencies you have to do compared to what you’d normally do in NASCAR. So I would do any other form of racing and at least try it out. Really all but probably MotoGP – those guys are pretty nuts. I would like to stick with four wheels.”
