NASCAR: Stage lengths for Darlington and Charlotte races

NASCAR has confirmed the stage lengths for the seven Cup Series, Xfinity Series and Truck Series races at Darlington Raceway and Charlotte Motor Speedway.

NASCAR, which hasn’t seen any live action since the Cup Series race at Phoenix Raceway back on Sunday, March 8, is set to return with the first of seven races in an 11-day span across the Cup Series, the Xfinity Series and the Truck Series this Sunday, May 17 at Darlington Raceway.

There are scheduled to be four Cup Series races, two Xfinity Series races and one Truck Series race during this span: two Cup Series races at Darlington Raceway, two Cup Series races at Charlotte Motor Raceway, one Xfinity Series race at Darlington Raceway, one Xfinity Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway and one Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

NASCAR has released stage lengths for each of these seven races.

The first race at Darlington Raceway, which is the fifth race of the 2020 Cup Series season, is scheduled to be a 293-lap race around the four-turn, 1.366-mile (2.198-kilometer) oval in Darlington, South Carolina. The first stage is set to end after lap 90 and the second stage is set to end after lap 185. The race is set to be broadcast live on Fox beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 17.

The next race is another race at Darlington Raceway, which is the fifth race of the 2020 Xfinity Series season. This race is scheduled to be a 147-lap race, with the first stage set to end after lap 45 and the second stage set to end after lap 90. It is set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, May 19.

Darlington Raceway is scheduled to host a second Cup Series race on Wednesday, May 20, and this is set to be a 228-lap race. The first stage is set to end after lap 60 and the second stage is set to end after lap 125. The race is set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.

NASCAR is then set to travel to Charlotte Motor Speedway, first for a Cup Series race on Sunday, May 24. This race is scheduled to be a 400-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) oval in Concord, North Carolina, and there are set to be four stages as opposed to the usual three.

The first stage is set to end after lap 100, the second stage is set to end after lap 200 and the third stage is set to end after lap 300. This race is set to be broadcast live on Fox beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET.

The next race is the Xfinity Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, which is scheduled to be a 200-lap race. The first stage is set to end after lap 45 and the second stage is set to end after lap 90. This race is set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday, May 25.

Then the Truck Series is scheduled to get back into action with the third race of the season on Tuesday, May 26 at Charlotte Motor Speedway with a 134-lap race. The first stage is set to end after lap 30 and the second stage is set to end after lap 60. This race is set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Finally, Charlotte Motor Speedway is scheduled to host another Cup Series race on Wednesday, May 27. This race is scheduled to be a 208-lap race, with the first stage set to end after lap 55 and the second stage set to end after lap 115. It is set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET.
