There is yet another weather delay at Darlington Raceway, this time for the already postponed Toyota 200 NASCAR Xfinity Series race.

Just one day after NASCAR surprisingly got in the Toyota 500 Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway despite a daunting weather forecast, there is more bad weather at the track has put the already postponed Xfinity Series race on hold.

This race, the Toyota 200, was initially scheduled to take place on Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. ET. It was moved up to 6:00 p.m. ET because of the rain and thunderstorms that were in the weather forecast, but that move ended up changing absolutely nothing, and the race had to be postponed.

Yesterday’s Toyota 500 Cup Series race looked as though it would meet a similar fate after it was moved up from 7:30 p.m. ET to 6:00 p.m. ET and the weather was poor at 6:00 p.m. ET.

More from Xfinity Series

It did get underway, but not until around 8:00 p.m. ET. It was shortened from 228 laps to 208 laps around the four-turn, 1.366-mile (2.198-kilometer) egg-shaped oval in Darlington, South Carolina due to rain.and thunderstorms which arrived late in the evening.

Now, for the third consecutive day after a near-flawless Cup Series race Sunday and a day off on Monday, storms have played spoiler to a NASCAR race at “The Lady in Black” getting underway as planned.

The 147-lap Xfinity Series race was scheduled to get underway at 12:00 p.m. ET, but this race is currently delayed indefinitely due to lightning in the area and a wet race track.

The plan was to be done at Darlington Raceway for the week by now, with a Cup Series race on Sunday, an Xfinity Series race on Tuesday and another Cup Series race yesterday.

That obviously did not happen as planned, and there is no telling when the Xfinity Series race will actually get underway, given the dire forecast for the rest of today.

NASCAR is scheduled to move to Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend for a stretch of four consecutive race days, so there is limited flexibility in terms of rescheduling. Be sure to stay updated with today’s Xfinity Series race schedule using this tracker.
