NASCAR’s plans at Darlington Raceway have been forced to change multiple times already as a result of bad weather. Here is an updated schedule.

NASCAR‘s return to racing schedule kicked off at Darlington Raceway this past Sunday, May 17 amid the coronavirus pandemic with a Cup Series race, the first of two scheduled to take place at the track this week.

However, despite the fact that this 293-lap The Real Heroes 400 at the four-turn, 1.366-mile (2.198-kilometer) egg-shaped oval in Darlington, South Carolina went off without a hitch as far as social distancing and other safety and health-related precautions were concerned, the schedule has been forced to change multiple times since then a this track alone.

Why? Bad weather.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

The schedule originally featured three races at the track “Too Tough To Tame” from Sunday through today, Wednesday, May 20.

Aside of Sunday’s Cup Series race, there was scheduled to be an Xfinity Series race on Tuesday evening and a Cup Series race this evening.

The Xfinity Series race was scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. ET while the Cup Series race was scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The first change was made by NASCAR in an attempt to combat the threat of bad weather. They moved the start time for the Xfinity Series race up by two hours to 6:00 p.m. ET.

But that change ended up serving no purpose, as the race had to be postponed due to rain and thunderstorms anyway.

The next change was made by NASCAR for the same reason, but for tonight’s Cup Series race. It was moved up by an hour and a half from 7:30 p.m. ET to 6:00 p.m. ET.

The forecast for tonight’s race does not look promising, either. The race has already been delayed.

As of now, here is the remaining race week schedule for “The Lady in Black”. This all remains subject to change.

Keep in mind that NASCAR is scheduled to travel to Charlotte Motor Speedway for four consecutive days of races beginning this Sunday, May 24, so additional postponements could put the sport in a touchy situation.
