Chris Buescher took the pole position for the second race of the NASCAR Cup Series doubleheader at Michigan International Speedway.

With his 20th place finish in Saturday afternoon’s FireKeepers Casino 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway, Roush Fenway Racing’s Chris Buescher took the pole position for Sunday’s Consumers Energy 400 at the same track.

The top 20 finishers from Saturday’s overtime-extended 161-lap race around the four-turn, 2.0-mile (3.219-kilometer) oval in Brooklyn, Michigan are set to line up in the top 20, but in reverse order for Sunday’s 156-lap race.

Everybody who finished outside of the top 20 in Saturday’s race is slated to start where they finished, with any new entries added to the rear of the field.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

Set to join Buescher and his #17 Ford on the front row in second place in his #14 Ford is Stewart-Haas Racing’s Clint Bowyer following his 19th place finish.

Richard Childress Racing rookie Tyler Reddick and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Matt Kenseth are set to share the second row in third and fourth place in their #8 Chevrolet and #42 Chevrolet, respectively. Stewart-Haas Racing’s Aric Almirola, who finished outside of the top 10 for the first time in 10 races in Saturday’s race, is set to start in fifth in his #10 Ford alongside Wood Brothers Racing’s Matt DiBenedetto in sixth in his #21 Ford.

Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron, Leavine Family Racing rookie Christopher Bell, Hendrick Motorsports’ Jimmie Johnson and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Erik Jones are set to round out the top 10 in seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #24 Chevrolet, #95 Toyota, #48 Chevrolet and #20 Toyota, respectively.

Race winner Kevin Harvick of Stewart-Haas Racing is set to start in 20th place in his #4 Ford alongside runner-up Brad Keselowski of Team Penske in 19th in his #2 Ford.

Hendrick Motorsports’ Alex Bowman missed the pole position by one spot by finishing in 21st place in his #88 Chevrolet. Because the invert includes only the top 20, he is set to start in 21st.

Josh Bilicki is set to replace Joey Gase behind the wheel of the #7 Tommy Baldwin Racing Chevrolet. He is set to start in 39th (last) place at the rear of the field, although that is where Gase would have started anyway due to his last place finish on Saturday afternoon.
