Kevin Harvick took the pole position for the Go Bowling 235 NASCAR Cup Series race at the Daytona International Speedway, the first race to use the new starting lineup format.

There will be no more random draws to set any starting lineups throughout the remaining 14 races of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season.

The sport recently announced that the starting lineups will be determined based on a formula involving three factors: most recent race finish, position in the owner standings and fastest lap rank in the previous race.

These three values are weighted at 50%, 35% and 15%, respectively, and the tiebreaker is position in the owner standings.

As a result, Stewart-Haas Racing’s Kevin Harvick is set to start Sunday afternoon’s Go Bowling 235, the inaugural race at the Daytona International Speedway road course, from the pole position in his #4 Ford.

Harvick is set to enter this 65-lap race around the 14-turn, 3.61-mile (5.810-kilometer) road course in Daytona Beach, Florida, which includes much of the track’s high-banked four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) oval as well as two chicanes and a whale tail-like section of the in field, as the winner of the previous race at Michigan International Speedway.

He is also set to enter the race with his #4 Ford leading the owner standings, and he might as well just be given the top spot in that category on a weekly basis; he owns a 137-point lead over the #2 Ford of Team Penske’s Brad Keselowski in second place.

While the fastest lap in the most recent race at Michigan International Speedway was recorded by Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin, Harvick did enough to secure the pole position by posting the second fastest lap. Hamlin is set to start in second place, as he finished that race in second and his #11 Toyota sits in third in the owner standings.

Here is the unofficial full starting lineup for the 2020 Go Bowling 235 at the Daytona International Speedway road course.
