Lewis Hamilton took the pole position for the 12th race of the 2020 Formula 1 season, the Portuguese Grand Prix at Algarve International Circuit.

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton, who has a chance to break the all-time record of 91 career Formula 1 victories, which he currently shares with Michael Schumacher, this weekend, took the pole position for the Portuguese Grand Prix at Algarve International Circuit, marking the 97th pole position of his career.

Hamilton took the pole position for this 66-lap race around the 15-turn, 2.91-mile (4.683-kilometer) road course in Portimao, Algarve, Portugal by recording a top lap time of 76.652 seconds (136.670 miles per hour) in the third and final round of qualifying for this race.
