While the majority of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series lineup has been solidified, there are still several seats without confirmed drivers. Here are the top three remaining openings.

After a 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season that was filled with drivers signing contract extensions and new deals with other teams, the offseason has opened up in similar fashion.

Multiple drivers have already signed new deals for the 2021 season following the conclusion of the 2020 season. However, there are still a few confirmed full-time seats in next year’s driver lineup that do not yet have confirmed drivers.

Here are the top three remaining openings.

Spire Motorsports are aiming to run a full-time driver for the first time in their history next year after running several drivers behind the wheel of the #77 Chevrolet in both 2019 and 2020, and they are set to do that.

They are slated to do so with Corey LaJoie behind the wheel of the #7 Chevrolet. LaJoie gave up his ride with Go Fas Racing behind the wheel of the #32 Ford after the 2020 season and had long been tipped to sign with the team for the 2021 campaign.

But the team that scored what was arguably the biggest upset win in Cup Series history at Daytona International Speedway in July of 2019 now have multiple charters as well as partnerships with both Hendrick Motorsports and Chip Ganassi Racing as they look to run more competitively entering their third year of competition. Their upset win remains their lone top 10 finish in 72 starts.

The #77 Chevrolet, which they ran in both 2019 and 2020, remains a chartered entry and does not yet have a confirmed driver or drivers.
