The final seat that had been without a full-time driver but expected to have one for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season has been filled by Anthony Alfredo.

Front Row Motorsports have confirmed that rookie Anthony Alfredo is set to compete full-time for the team in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season alongside veteran Michael McDowell.

Reports recently emerged that Alfredo had become the frontrunner to replace John Hunter Nemechek behind the wheel of the #38 Ford.

Nemechek opted to leave the team after his rookie year and drop down to the Truck Series to compete for Kyle Busch Motorsports.

Here is what Alfredo had to say about this opportunity in a team release.

"“This is really an unbelievable moment. When you start out racing karts as a kid, you dream of making it to the sport’s top level. I want to thank Bob Jenkins and everyone at Front Row Motorsports for making this dream a reality. I know the challenges ahead, but I’m here to work hard and prove myself.”"

Alfredo has no Cup Series experience, and his experience in the other two NASCAR national series is limited to part-time efforts in the last two seasons.

In 2019, the 21-year-old Ridgefield, Connecticut native competed in 13 of the 23 races on the Truck Series schedule.
