Rick Ware Racing are set to make another announcement regarding their driver lineup for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season later this morning.

Rick Ware Racing hadn’t confirmed any of their drivers for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season until last week, when they confirmed that Joey Gase is set to return to the team for a part-time effort.

James Davison, who made his Cup Series debut in 2020, also announced that he expects to return to the team in 2021 for select races, although there has not yet been any official word from the team on the matter.

Then on Monday, Rick Ware Racing confirmed their first full-time driver of the season, announcing that Cody Ware is set to compete for the team behind the wheel of the #51 Petty Ware Racing Chevrolet throughout the 36-race campaign.

After making that announcement, the team confirmed that they have yet another driver announcement looming.

They are set to make the announcement today at 10:00 a.m. ET.

Just what could that announcement be?

More than likely, it will be confirmed that Josh Bilicki is set to compete for the team in the upcoming season. Whether or not he will have a full-time ride is unknown.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

The 25-year-old Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin native has made select starts for the team in each of the last four seasons, and he will likely be back for a fifth consecutive season in 2021.

Following Rick Ware Racing’s announcement that they have another announcement looming today at 10:00 a.m. ET, Bilicki took to Twitter to let fans know that he also had news to share with them at 10:00 a.m. ET. Presumably, the team’s announcement and his announcement are the same.

They gave us an additional clue that they might be.

After confirming that they had an announcement looming, the team also retweeted this picture of Bilicki driving their #27 Ford last season.

Should Bilicki be confirmed by the team for the Daytona 500, he would be guaranteed a starting spot in the race, given the fact that they are set to run four chartered entries throughout the upcoming season.
