NASCAR: Look closely at Clint Bowyer’s Tom Brady jersey
By Asher Fair
Clint Bowyer paid up on his Super Bowl bet with former NASCAR teammate Aric Almirola, but there was one interesting detail you might have missed about his Tom Brady jersey.
Clint Bowyer finally paid up on the Super Bowl bet he made with former Stewart-Haas Racing teammate Aric Almirola, wearing a #12 jersey of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady ahead of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The Buccaneers crushed Bowyer’s Kansas City Chiefs, then the reigning Super Bowl champions, by a score of 31-9 just over three weeks ago in Super Bowl LV at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, despite losing to them by a score of 27-24 at the same location during the regular season.
Bowyer made a similar bet with fellow Fox NASCAR announcer Jeff Gordon last year before the Chiefs beat Gordon’s San Francisco 49ers by a score of 31-20 to win Super Bowl LV, and Gordon wore his Chiefs jersey during Daytona 500 qualifying.
Bowyer needed many reminders from Almirola before actually paying up on the bet, which led to some interesting exchanges.

But he did finally make it happen in the Tampa, Florida native’s home state this past Sunday after a special Fox Sports segment in which Richard Childress Racing driver Tyler Reddick was seen fishing on Lake Homestead and reeling in a Brady jersey along with a Lombardi Trophy.
However, there was one interesting aspect about Bowyer wearing the Brady jersey on Sunday that you might have missed if you haven’t actively been following this situation, you simply aren’t an NFL fan, or you don’t follow Bowyer and/or Almirola on social media.
Take a look at how this situation unfolded and the specific jersey which Almirola used in all of his pictures reminding his former teammate to pay up by putting it on.

Now take a look at the Brady jersey which Reddick fished out of the water and Bowyer actually wore.

Interesting.
So what happened to the pewter jersey? And where did the red jersey come from (before it ended up in the lake)?
Now we just have to wait and see whether or not a white jersey turns up sometime in the near future, considering those are the jerseys which the Buccaneers actually wore in their 31-9 onslaught of Bowyer’s squad. Maybe next year when they do it again. Or not.
