Formula 1: Ferrari guaranteed on podium in every race through 2023
By Asher Fair
Ferrari will be on the podium in every race throughout the 2021 Formula 1 season, whether one of the Ferrari drivers makes it there or not.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that throughout the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Formula 1 seasons, Ferrari will be on the podium regularly.
But this won’t depend on the performance of Ferrari’s two drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr., as we aren’t talking about the Italian race team.
That is because after four decades, Ferrari Trento is set to return to the pinnacle of motorsport, becoming the Official Toast of Formula 1 beginning in the upcoming 2021 season.
Their sparkling wine will be used on the podium, in the Paddock Club and at other official Formula 1 venues.

This three-year deal marks a return to sparking wine after champagne company Carbon took over from Chandon, which was used on the podium from the start of the 2016 season, during the 2017 season.
Ferrari Trento wine has been featured on the Formula 1 podium before, but not since their home race in 1981, the Italian Grand Prix at Autodomo Nazionale di Monza. The Italian family-owned Ferrari Trento winery is based in Trentino, in the Italian Alps. They are a global leader in their field and have crafted their luxury Trentodoc wines for over a century since being founded by Giulio Ferrari in 1902. Over the years, they have become known as Italy’s sparkling wine par excellence.
Here is what Ferrari Trento president and CEO Matteo Lunelli had to say about this exciting announcement in a release.
"“We are very excited to announce this partnership with Formula 1 which is both an achievement and a starting point for us. It’s an achievement because it demonstrates the renown and the appeal that Ferrari Trento wines enjoy internationally, thanks to our team that works tirelessly across the board. It’s a starting point because we are just beginning this extraordinary adventure that will allow us to bring the Italian Art of Living to the celebrations of Formula 1. We decided to embark on this project even in this complex time that the world is currently experiencing, because we strongly believe in the future of Ferrari Trento.“This collaboration is based on shared values, such as the pursuit of excellence in every detail, innovation and passion. It is a great source of pride for us at Ferrari Trento and, I believe, a testament to the global appreciation of Italian excellence.” commented Simone Masè, General Manager of the Lunelli Group.”"
Here is what Formula 1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali had to add.
"“We are thrilled to announce Ferrari Trento as an official Partner of Formula 1. Celebrating success is in both our DNA and having Ferrari Trento at the heart of the sport’s most iconic celebratory moment makes them such a natural partner for us. For more than a century, Ferrari Trento has been synonymous with Italian excellency, pouring their passion into creating fine sparkling wines capable of elevating any moment, and we look forward to working together to create and enhance our fan experience on and off the podium.”"
