With the Summer Olympics ongoing, this weekend is once again not scheduled to feature races in any of the three NASCAR national series.

Last weekend was the first off weekend for the NASCAR Cup Series since Easter weekend, and this coming weekend is the second.

This coming weekend is also the final off weekend for the Cup Series until the season ends in early November, meaning that next week will begin a 14-week stretch of races for the sport’s top level, including the final four races of the 26-race regular season as well as the entire four-round, 10-race playoffs.

Due to the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, none of the three national series — the Cup Series, the Xfinity Series and the Truck Series — ran races last week.

None of them are scheduled to run races this weekend either.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

The most recent Truck Series race took place at Knoxville Raceway on Friday, July 9. The most recent Xfinity Series and Cup Series races took place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, with the former taking place on Saturday, July 17 and the latter taking place on Sunday, July 18.

All three national series are scheduled to return next weekend at Watkins Glen International, however. Set to lead things off is the Truck Series race, the United Rentals 176, on Saturday, August 7. This race is set to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET.

Following that race, the Xfinity Series is scheduled to get back into action at 4:00 p.m. ET, with live coverage set to be presented by CNBC, a change from the usual NBC Sports Network since the Summer Olympics will still be airing at that time.
