The starting lineup for the final Formula 1 race before the summer break is set following Saturday’s qualifying session at the Hungaroring.

After setting the starting lineup for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit two weekends ago by using a sprint qualifying race for the first time ever, Formula 1 moved back to the traditional three-round, knockout qualifying format for this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring.

Sprint qualifying won’t be used again until the Italian Grand Prix race weekend at Autodromo Nazionale di Monza in September.

Saturday’s three-round qualifying session was another intense qualifying session, which is what we have fortunately become accustomed to throughout the first 11 races of the 23-race season. Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton took the pole position, his third of the year.

Set to start alongside Hamilton on the front row in second place is teammate Valtteri Bottas, whose top lap time was just 0.315 seconds (0.540 miles per hour) slower than that of Hamilton at 75.734 seconds (129.390 miles per hour).
