Follow along with our live qualifying updates for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season is scheduled to get underway this Sunday, February 20 with the 64th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. But first, the drivers on the entry list need to qualify for the race.

Only 40 of the 42 drivers on the entry list for this 200-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) high-banked oval in Daytona Beach, Florida will end up qualifying, though 36 are locked in due to the charter system. Six drivers are set to battle for the final four spots.

The drivers who land two of these four spots are set to be determined by today’s single-car qualifying session, and the drivers who land the other two are set to be determined in tomorrow’s Bluegreen Vacations Duels.

Tonight’s qualifying session is slated to set the starting lineups for tomorrow night’s two 60-lap Duel races, which are ultimately designed to set the full 40-car starting lineup for the Daytona 500.

However, the Daytona 500 front row is set to be determined this evening. The fastest 10 drivers from the single-car qualifying session are set to advance to a second round, and the top two drivers in the second round are set to start the Daytona 500 on the front row.

The starting lineups for the two Bluegreen Vacations Duels are set to be determined by the second round (for the top 10) and the first round (for everyone else) of today’s session.

Who will lock up front row starting positions for this year’s running of the “Great American Race”? Follow along with our live qualifying updates.
