Keep tabs on Saturday afternoon’s qualifying session for Sunday afternoon’s NASCAR Cup Series playoff race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.

The sixth and final road course race on the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series schedule is the one and only road course race on the four-round, 10-race playoff calendar, and it is set to bring an end to the round of 12 this Sunday afternoon.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval has hosted the 109-lap Bank of America Roval 400 in the playoffs annually since 2018, but the 17-turn, 2.28-mile (3.669-kilometer) Concord, North Carolina track has not hosted a qualifying session since its second season in 2019.

As was the case for the first five road course races this year, qualifying is set to be conducted using a group format. The drivers in each group are determined by the results of the most recent race at Talladega Superspeedway this past Sunday.

This is not a single-car session, and drivers are allowed to run more than one qualifying lap. Both groups are timed, and the fastest five drivers in each group advance to the second round. The second round is conducted the same way, and speeds determine the top 10 in the starting lineup.

Speeds from the first round determine the rest of the starting lineup, irrespective of the group in which they were recorded.

Follow along with our live qualifying updates for the 2022 Bank of America Roval 400.
