New footage of a violent February incident involving NASCAR advisor and New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was released by TMZ on Saturday.

Nine months ago yesterday, NASCAR advisor and New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was arrested following the NFL Pro Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada as a result of his involvement in a violent incident at The Cromwell Las Vegas Hotel & Casino the day prior.

Kamara was arrested for battery causing substantial bodily harm and conspiracy to commit battery after punching a man named Darnell Greene, who is now suing Kamara for $10 million, repeatedly. Three others, including Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Chris Lammons, Darrin Young, and Percy Harris, were also arrested.

When Kamara was arrested, cops claimed in police documents that he did admit to punching Greene. The day after the arrest, the 27-year-old Atlanta, Georgia native was released on $5,000 bond. The case has not yet been adjudicated, but after several changes in the court date, a hearing has been set for this coming Wednesday, November 9.

According to TMZ, which obtained footage of the incident and made it public on Saturday, sources close to Kamara claim that the video doesn’t tell the full story and that Greene became violent first.

That being said, the video itself does not paint a pleasant picture whatsoever.

NASCAR, which brought Kamara on as their first ever “Growth and Engagement Advisor” back in June 2021, never commented about the matter initially, which led to a significant amount of public backlash once Kamara tweeted that it felt “good to be back” this past June.

Kamara became a fan of the sport in 2020 when some of the drivers, specifically his good friend Bubba Wallace, participated in racial justice activism, including the controversial ban of the Confederate battle flag from race tracks. Wallace then ran a Black Lives Matter paint scheme on his car at Martinsville Speedway.

Kamara’s Louisiana-based juice and smoothie chain The Big Squeezy then served as the primary sponsor of Ryan Vargas’s #6 JD Motorsports Chevrolet at the Daytona International Speedway road course in February 2021, and a few months later, he landed the advisor role which was effectively carved out just for him.

NASCAR still hasn’t commented about the situation, even amid this latest development, and there has been nothing from the NFL in terms of a suspension either. Under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy, he remains subject to a six-game baseline suspension.
