Fox Sports 1, not Fox, is again set to carry coverage of the NASCAR Cup Series race this Sunday afternoon at Darlington Raceway.

It took until the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season’s seventh race for a race to be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 instead of Fox, but the series is currently in the midst of a run of races on the former.

Four of the last six races, including the last two, have been shown live on Fox Sports 1. That trend is set to continue with this Sunday afternoon’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway.

Beyond this weekend, there are four more races before NBC and USA take over for the remainder of the 2023 season.

The races at Charlotte Motor Speedway (Sunday, May 28) and Sonoma Raceway (Sunday, June 11) are set to be shown live on Fox, while the races at North Wilkesboro Speedway (Sunday, May 21) and World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway (Sunday, June 4) are set to be shown live on Fox Sports 1.

Of course, the NASCAR Cup Series race being shown on Fox Sports 1 instead of Fox doesn’t change much for the average fan, other than which channel to select before turning on the race.

The coverage team is set to be the usual coverage team. The only difference is the fact that four individuals, not just one, are set to join the full-time duo of lead announcer Mike Joy and driver analyst Clint Bowyer throughout the 293-lap race around “The Track Too Tough to Tame”. The same approach was taken for last year’s throwback race at the track as well.

Richard Petty and Kyle Petty are set to join for stage one at the four-turn, 1.366-mile (2.198-kilometer) Darlington, South Carolina oval this Sunday, while Carl Edwards and Bill Elliott are set to join for stage two and stage three, respectively. Last year’s race saw Richard Petty join for stage one, Bobby Labonte join for stage two, and Elliott join for stage three.
