Corey LaJoie, who made his first start of the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway for Henderson Motorsports, made his second start of the year in Kaulig Racing's No. 25 "free agent" truck at Darlington Raceway two weekends ago.

Now he finds himself as the team's fourth full-time driver.

LaJoie is set to replace Daniel Dye behind the wheel of the No. 10 Ram and join a lineup that already consists of Brenden Queen, Justin Haley, and Mini Tyrrell. Dye was initially suspended indefinitely by both NASCAR and Kaulig Racing after comments he made about IndyCar driver David Malukas on a livestream went viral.

Dye only missed the Darlington race before completing sensitivity training, and full-time Cup Series driver A.J. Allmendinger filled in for him at the "Lady in Black". However, he and Kaulig Racing have since parted ways, opening up the door for LaJoie to become the full-time driver of the No. 10 truck for the rest of the 2026 season.

Kaulig free agent truck sees first repeat driver

LaJoie's stint in the No. 10 entry is set to begin this Friday at Rockingham Speedway, and with him no longer in the "free agent" truck after his 21st place finish at Darlington, he is set to be replaced by Ty Dillon.

Dillon, who is Allmendinger's full-time Kaulig Racing teammate at the Cup level, made his first start of the Truck Series season at EchoPark Speedway (Atlanta Motor Speedway), replacing Tony Stewart after Stewart drove the No. 25 truck at Daytona in what was his first NASCAR national series start in a decade. Dillon had not competed in any Truck Series races since 2024.

Through four races this season, the other driver of the "free agent" entry was Colin Braun, who drove it in the series' inaugural street course race in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Beyond this weekend, the only confirmed driver for the No. 25 Ram this season is Carson Ferguson, who is set to drive it in the penultimate race of the playoffs at Martinsville Speedway in late October.

As for LaJoie, he was ineligible for Truck Series points in his first two starts of the year, but he has since declared eligibility in the series.

He is set to start with zero points, which puts him 89 points below the cut line, but it has not yet been announced whether or not he will be granted a playoff waiver, which would allow him to qualify for the postseason despite missing two of the season's first four races and beginning the year as a part-time driver.
