While Esteban Ocon has vowed that his Formula 1 career is not over, he will be without a ride for the 2027 season, as he and Haas have announced that their partnership will not continue beyond the conclusion of the 2026 campaign.

Ocon joined Haas in 2025 after spending five years with Alpine (formerly Renault). He also missed the 2019 season after losing his ride with Force India after just two seasons, so he is no stranger to being on the outside and trying to find his way back into the sport as he now sets his sights on 2028. His plans for next year have not yet been announced.

Ocon finished two spots (three points) behind rookie teammate Oliver Bearman in the 2025 standings with nine points finishes, including a top finish of fifth in the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai International Circuit.

F2 driver linked to Haas as Esteban Ocon replacement

Through 15 races this year, he is three spots behind Bearman, and the points gap between the two drivers is 13. His top finish of the season is eighth in the recent Azerbaijan Grand Prix at Baku City Circuit, and it's one of only three points finish he's recorded.

Rumored to be on his way to replacing the 30-year-old Frenchman alongside Bearman is Rafael Camara, the 21-year-old Brazilian who, like Bearman, is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy.

Driving for Invicta Racing, Camara currently leads the Formula 2 championship standings after 25 of the 29 races on the 2026 calendar. He owns a seven-point lead over Nikola Tsolov, who has been rumored for an F1 promotion to Racing Bulls himself. Haas and Racing Bulls are the two F1 teams with seats still to fill for 2027.

Bearman has long been considered a potential replacement for seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari alongside Charles Leclerc, but with Hamilton having experienced a resurgence in form this year, that will not come to fruition in 2027, and it could set up an even more intriguing battle between the two Haas teammates moving forward.
