The entry list for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series postseason race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is unchanged from this past Sunday's playoff race at Kansas Speedway, with no non-chartered (open) cars set to compete alongside the 36 chartered entries.

As a result, Sunday's 267-lap South Point 400 around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) is set to mark an occurrence not seen in the Cup Series since June 2024. Not since the races at Iowa Speedway and New Hampshire Motor Speedway that month has the Cup Series seen two consecutive races with exclusively full-time cars.

A total of 83 races were contested between that New Hampshire race and this past weekend's race at Kansas.

NASCAR entry list for Las Vegas features no open cars

In total, six races, including two of the first four playoff races, have featured no open cars this year. There were just four of such races throughout the entire 2025 season.

There are, however, currently two open cars set to be entered for next weekend's race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Gray Gaulding is set to drive the No. 66 Garage 66 Ford, marking his first start since June 2023, and Corey Heim is set to drive the No. 67 23XI Racing Toyota for the 11th of his 12 scheduled starts this year.

As a result, the Cup Series will not see its first stretch of more than two consecutive races without an open car since the 2023 season ended with four in a row at Las Vegas, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Martinsville Speedway, and Phoenix Raceway. That year, only 13 of the 36 races actually featured any open cars.

That four-race stretch remains the most recent postseason stretch with no open cars for at least two straight weekends.

Sunday's South Point 400 is set to be shown live on USA Network from Las Vegas Motor Speedway starting at 5:30 p.m. ET. Don't miss any of the action from the fifth race on the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series postseason calendar!
