Toni Breidinger replacement confirmed in strategic NASCAR driver change

Toni Breidinger is set to drive a full-time truck this weekend, even though she's not a full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver.

Toni Breidinger has competed part-time throughout the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season for Rackley WAR after running the full schedule for Tricon Garage a year ago, and she is set for her sixth appearance of the season with the team this weekend.

But after driving the No. 27 Chevrolet in her first five appearances, most recently at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in July, she is set to move to the No. 26 Chevrolet, which is the team's one and only full-time truck, this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

There are 41 cars on the entry list for this weekend's regular season finale, and with only 36 spots in the field, coupled with the fact that Breidinger has three DNQs (including one in her lone appearance with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing) this year, the team have moved her to the truck that's higher in the owner standings (26th), thus benefitting her in the qualifying metric and increasing the chance that she will actually get to race.

Toni Breidinger replacement confirmed for New Hampshire

Dawson Sutton has driven the No. 26 Chevrolet full-time this year, but he is set to shift over to the No. 27 truck that Breidinger was initially set to drive. He is 18th in the point standings with a top finish of seventh at Bristol Motor Speedway and has been eliminated from postseason contention. He finished 14th in his first start at New Hampshire a year ago.

While his statistics are by no means off the charts, which you wouldn't expect driving for a team like Rackley WAR, the fact that his average qualifying position is a respectable 23rd means that the team feel like this is their best bet to get both trucks in the race.

Sutton is set to return to his usual No. 26 Chevrolet with the postseason opener at Bristol Motor Speedway in mid-September.

As for Breidinger, she currently has two more starts lined up for later this year. She is set to compete for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing at Phoenix Raceway in mid-October before returning to Rackley WAR for the race at Talladega Superspeedway the following weekend.
