Despite recent rumors, former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. has made clear that he has no desire to be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., 43, retired from full-time competition in the NASCAR Cup Series this month after the 2017 season finale. But you didn’t really think he would go out quietly, did you?

Definitely not after all the publicity he got this past season since announcing that he would retire at the end of the season back in April. That and the fact that he is the 14-time defending winner of the Most Popular Driver Award, and it looks as though he will win that award again for the 15th consecutive season.

Since then, there have been rumors about the future of Earnhardt Jr., so he really hasn’t gone out quietly — not that anyone really expected that he would. However, while these rumors revolve around competition, they have nothing to do with NASCAR or any form of motorsports or any kind of racing for that matter.

More from Dale Earnhardt Jr

These rumors indicated that Earnhardt Jr. is being pursued to be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars next season. However, it did not take long until the 26-time Cup Series race winner shot those rumors down.

He didn’t give a full-fledged speech addressing the rumors, and there was no formal interview on the subject. Let’s not forget that he is, in fact, retired now, and he wasn’t the one who started these rumors to begin with. He actually didn’t speak or type any words to address said rumors. Instead, he posted a GIF on his Twitter page that clearly indicates his stance on competing on Dancing with the Stars.

Well, there you have it from the man himself. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will never be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, much less in the near future.
