Team Penske won their field-high third race of 2018 IndyCar season in the IndyCar Grand Prix. How do the team power rankings look?

Team Penske won their third race of the 2018 IndyCar season with Will Power’s victory in the IndyCar Grand Prix at the 13-turn, 2.439-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in Speedway, Indiana.

Team Penske are the only Chevrolet team with a victory so far this season, and they are the only overall team with more than one victory as well. This is the case despite the fact that through five races in 2018, Chevrolet drivers have taken only four of the 25 combined top five positions.

All four of those top five positions by Chevrolet drivers so far this season have been top two finishes by Team Penske drivers, with three of them being wins. In addition to Power’s victory in Indianapolis, Josef Newgarden won at ISM Raceway and Barber Motorsports Park.

Power’s second place finish on the streets of Long Beach, California is the other top two, and top five, finish by a Chevrolet driver so far this season.

Honda drivers and teams have dominated the finishing order in pretty much all five races so far this season, as they have taken 21 of the 25 combined top five positions. However, they still trail in overall victories, as they have only won two races while the Chevrolet drivers at Team Penske have combined to win three races.

How did the action from the 2018 IndyCar Grand Prix affect the IndyCar Team Power Rankings? Here are the formulated IndyCar Team Power Rankings and the non-formulated IndyCar Team Power Rankings following the first of two races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this season.
