Will Power earned his third pole position of the 2018 IndyCar season in the season’s 14th race, the ABC Supply 500, at Pocono Raceway.

Team Penske’s Will Power earned his third pole position of the 17-race 2018 IndyCar season in the 14th race of the season, the ABC Supply 500, at Pocono Raceway. He also took the pole positions for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Iowa Corn 300 at Iowa Speedway.

Power took the pole position for the 200-lap race by recording a two-lap average speed of 219.511 miles per hour (82.0006 total seconds) around the three-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Pocono Raceway triangle in Long Pond, Pennsylvania in his #12 Chevrolet.

This pole position is the 53rd pole position of Power’s IndyCar career, which tied him for second place on the all-time list with A.J. Foyt. He now trails only Mario Andretti, who recorded 67 poles throughout his IndyCar career, on the all-time list.

Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden qualified alongside Power on the front row in second place in his #1 Chevrolet. Power and Newgarden finished last year’s Pocono Race in first and second, respectively.
