With just one oval race remaining on the 2018 IndyCar schedule, how do the sport’s 10 full-time teams stack up against one another in oval races?

With the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway now in the books, just one of the six oval races on the 2018 IndyCar schedule has not yet been contested. Four teams are set to enter that race with at least one victory in an oval races so far this season following the ABC Supply 500.

Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi delivered Andretti Autosport their first oval race victory of the season and their first oval race victory since he won the 2016 Indianapolis 500 for the team on fuel mileage, and he did so thanks to a dominant performance in the 200-lap race around the three-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Pocono Raceway triangle in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.

Three other teams have earned at least one oval race victory so far this season. Two of them, Chip Ganassi Racing and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, have earned one oval race victory, while the other one, Team Penske, have earned two oval race victories.

But while Team Penske have led all teams in oval race victories all season since they won the season’s first two oval races thanks to Josef Newgarden’s victory in the race at ISM Raceway and Will Power’s victory in the Indy 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the fact is, they have not won any of the last three oval races that have been contested.

Therefore, the odds that one of the other three teams that have combined to win the last three oval races will win the season’s final oval race are fairly sizable, and a win in that race would tie them for the lead among all teams in oval race victories this season. Will one of them pull it off?

How did Andretti Autosport’s first oval race victory of the season affect the IndyCar Team Oval Power Rankings? Here are the formulated IndyCar Team Oval Power Rankings and the non-formulated IndyCar Team Power Rankings following the penultimate oval race of the season.
