The 2019 IndyCar schedule has been revealed, and eight of the season’s 17 races are set to be broadcast live on NBC with the other nine set to be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network.

In March of 2018, IndyCar and NBC Sports confirmed a new television contract to broadcast all of the races on the 2019 schedule on either NBC or NBC Sports Network.

IndyCar races had previously either been broadcast on NBC Sports Network or on ABC, but ESPN/ABC ended up losing their rights to broadcast any IndyCar races last year when IndyCar and NBC Sports reached a new contract.

This new contract ended a long and historic run for IndyCar races being broadcast on ABC, which first began airing races that are now IndyCar races back in 1965 with the 49th running of the Indianapolis 500.

More from IndyCar

ABC has broadcast each of the last 54 Indianapolis 500 races, but that streak is set to end in the 2019 season.

The final IndyCar race to be broadcast on ABC was the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Race 2 from the Raceway at Belle Isle Park on Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan on Sunday, June 3, 2018.

The 2019 IndyCar schedule was confirmed in September of 2018, and 17 races are scheduled to take place this season just like in the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

Of these 17 races, 15 were on the schedule last season and two are new additions, unlike last season when 16 races were on the 2017 schedule and just one was a new addition.

With the IndyCar schedule itself having been revealed, all that was left as far as scheduling was concerned for the 2019 season was the TV schedule, and now that has been confirmed as well.

Here is the TV schedule for the 2019 IndyCar season.
