The eighth race of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season, the Food City 500, at Bristol Motor Speedway is set to feature 38 drivers.

Bristol Motor Speedway is scheduled to host the eighth of 36 races on the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series schedule, the Food City 500, this Sunday, April 7. This race is scheduled to take place one week earlier than it did last year due to the fact that Easter is three weeks later this year than it was last year.

This race is the first of two races scheduled to take place at the four-turn, 0.533-mile (0.858-kilometer) high-banked Bristol Motor Speedway oval in Bristol, Tennessee this season. The other scheduled race at the track this year is the track’s annual night race, which scheduled to take place in mid-August.

A total of 38 drivers are set to compete in this Sunday’s 500-lap race at the track. The driver total of 38 on this entry list is tied for the third highest driver total on an entry list through the first eight races of the 2019 season.

A total of 38 drivers also competed in the races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Auto Club Speedway.

The only two races to feature more than 38 drivers so far this season are the season opener, the Daytona 500, at Daytona International Speedway and the race at Texas Motor Speedway. These races featured 40 drivers and 39 drivers, respectively.

Two races, the races at ISM Raceway and Martinsville Speedway, featured a season-low 36 drivers so far this season while another one, the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, featured 37 drivers.

Of the 38 drivers who are set to compete in this Sunday’s race, 34 have competed in each of the first seven races of the 2019 season. Of these 34 drivers, 32 are full-time drivers who are eligible two score points in the Cup Series.

One of the other two drivers, Ross Chastain, is a full-time Cup Series driver but is ineligible to score points in the Cup Series as a result of the fact that he also drives full-time in the Xfinity Series. The other driver, Cody Ware, is a part-time driver.

The four drivers who are set to compete in this Sunday’s race having missed at least one of the season’s first seven races are Premium Motorsports’ Reed Sorenson, Rick Ware Racing rookie Bayley Currey, MBM Motorsports’ Joey Gase and Spire Motorsports rookie Quin Houff.

Sorenson and Gase are the only two drivers who are set to drive for non-chartered teams in this race, although the significance of this is minimal given the fact that the entry list does not contain more than 40 drivers and therefore nobody will be bumped from the field.

Here is a list of the 38 drivers who are set to compete in the 2019 Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
