Kyle Kaiser has been confirmed as the Juncos Racing’s lone IndyCar driver for the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 later this month.

As has been speculated ever since Juncos Racing announced last month that they will be fielding one car for the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500, they have now confirmed that Kyle Kaiser, the only driver to drive for them so far in the 2019 IndyCar season, will be their driver for this race.

Kaiser is set to drive the #32 Chevrolet in this year’s running of the 200-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana.

Here is what Kaiser had to say about the opportunity to drive for Juncos Racing in this year’s Indy 500, according to Speed Sport.

"“I am incredibly happy to have the opportunity to qualify for the 103rd Running of the Indy 500. The team and myself have been working very hard to make this happen, so I’m extremely grateful to everyone who has helped make this possible.“It will be great to build off what we accomplished last year, having qualified 17th as a single car effort was incredible. With this knowledge and experience I am confident we will have another strong showing. I can’t wait to get back on track and get back to work preparing the No. 32 Chevrolet for the biggest race of the year.”"

Here is what Juncos Racing team owner Ricardo Juncos had to say about Kaiser being set to drive for the team in this year’s Indy 500, according to Speed Sport.

"“We are happy that Kyle (Kaiser) will be back in the No. 32 car this May. We had a lot of success in qualifying last year as a single car entry, so we are ready to build on what we learned and carry that momentum with us to the speedway. We have a lot of history with Kyle.“He has been with this team for six years and has gone through our major transitions from Pro Mazda, to winning the Indy Lights Championship and moving up to IndyCar and even in our new IMSA program. We are excited to have the opportunity to continue our work with him for one of the biggest events of the year and look forward to a great month at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.”"

More from IndyCar

The 23-year-old Santa Clara, California native has competed in five IndyCar races over the course of his career, including four last season and one so far this season. He has only ever driven the #32 Juncos Racing Chevrolet.

Last season, three drivers combined to drive the #32 Chevrolet in 12 of the season’s 17 races. One of the four races in which Kaiser competed was the 102nd running of the Indy 500, so he has experience at the Brickyard.

Kaiser qualified for this race in 17th place, but he ended up being relegated to a 29th place finish as a result of a mechanical issue that prevented him from continuing past lap 111.

The only race for which Juncos Racing have fielded a car so far this season is the season’s second race at Circuit of the Americas. Kaiser qualified for this race in 21st place and finished it on the lead lap in 18th.
