IndyCar: Simon Pagenaud tops third 2019 Toronto practice session

Simon Pagenaud topped the speed chart in the third and final practice session for the 2019 IndyCar season’s 11th race, the Honda Indy Toronto, at Exhibition Place.

Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud topped the speed chart in the third and final practice session for the 17-race 2019 IndyCar season’s 11th race, the Honda Indy Toronto, at Exhibition Place after topping the speed chart in the second practice session for this race yesterday afternoon.

Pagenaud topped the speed chart in this practice session by recording a top lap time of 59.3651 seconds (108.3061 miles per hour) around the 11-turn, 1.786-mile (2.874-kilometer) temporary street circuit on the streets of Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in his #22 Chevrolet.

Pagenaud was the only Chevrolet driver who finished this practice session in the top nine, as eight Honda drivers representing five of the six Honda teams finished from second through ninth place.

Chip Ganassi Racing rookie Felix Rosenqvist, Andretti Autosport’s Ryan-Hunter-Reay, Dale Coyne Racing rookie Santino Ferrucci and Harding Steinbrenner Racing rookie Colton Herta rounded out the top five by finishing in second, third, fourth and fifth place in their #10 Honda, #28 Honda, #19 Honda and #88 Honda, respectively.

Andretti Herta Autosport’s Marco Andretti, Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi, Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser Sullivan’s Sebastien Bourdais and Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ James Hinchcliffe rounded out the top nine by finishing in sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth place in their #98 Honda, #27 Honda, #18 Honda and #5 Honda, respectively.

Ed Carpenter Racing’s Spencer Pigot was the only Chevrolet driver aside of Pagenaud who finished this practice session in the top 10. He finished in 10th place in his #21 Chevrolet.
