Brad Keselowski took a shot at LeBron James while defending the use of private aviation by NASCAR drivers in the wake of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s plane crash.

As NASCAR fans well know by now, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his family were involved in a plane crash this past Friday when their private plane attempted to land in Tennessee ahead of the Bristol Motor Speedway race weekend. Thankfully, nobody was seriously injured.

Brad Keselowski, 2012 NASCAR Cup Series champion and current Team Penske driver, made comments pertaining to private aviation in the wake of this crash.

The 35-year-old Rochester Hills, Michigan native is an advocate for private aviation, and he disagrees with those who perceive NASCAR drivers in a negative light for utilizing it.

In expressing his beliefs about the matter, he went into detail about how NASCAR drivers compete for 38 weeks out of the year, and he ripped the NBA’s LeBron James, who has been known to take games off for no other reason than to “rest”.

Here is what Keselowski had to say, according to NBC Sports.

"“It’s work-life balance. That’s the reality of it. We’re trying to be dads and be husbands. And try to leverage the privileges we have to do just that. That’s probably the easiest way I can answer it.“I understand that most people might not get that concept, but most people aren’t in the situation we’re in as race car drivers that travel every week. We don’t get to skip a week.“We’re not like LeBron James where we get to sit on the bench or stay home for a week or whatever it is from other sports. This is 38 weeks, and they will run the race without you. And your ass will get fired if you don’t show up. So that’s really hard to explain to people.”"

Really, Keselowski could have used a number of athletes in this analogy, namely those who hold out and don’t show up to practice or games in the hopes of getting better contracts because apparently tens of millions of dollars per year isn’t enough.

More from NASCAR Cup Series

But this is not the first time that LeBron has been ripped this season by a NASCAR driver, and it is not the first time that Keselowski has ripped an athlete from a separate sporting league.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch took a shot at LeBron earlier this year for calling himself the GOAT, and Keselowski harassed NFL player Tyrann Mathieu for his lack of ability to stay in a hot car for a PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) video for Heat Awareness Day. While LeBron did not respond to Busch’s criticism, Mathieu responded by hurling childish insults at Keselowski for making an accurate, albeit strange, point.
