A total of 24 drivers are set to compete in the 2019 IndyCar season finale at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey.

The double points-paying Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey is the only race remaining on the 2019 IndyCar schedule, and for the 14th consecutive season, the championship is set to be decided in the season finale. A total of 24 drivers are set to compete in this race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

So far this season, the only race to feature more than 24 drivers is the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which featured its traditional season-high total of 33 drivers. In fact, 36 drivers were on the entry list for this race, and three ended up being bumped from the field.

Of the 24 drivers who are set to compete in this Sunday afternoon’s race around the 11-turn, 2.238-mile (3.602-kilometer) WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca natural terrain road course in Monterey, California, 19 are full-time drivers, of whom 18 have competed in each of the season’s first 16 races, and five are part-time drivers.

The only full-time driver who has not competed in each of the season’s first 16 races is Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports rookie Marcus Ericsson, who was called to the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix to stand by as the potential replacement for the injured Kimi Raikkonen at Alfa Romeo Racing. Raikkonen ended up competing in the race, so Ericsson did not drive.

Of the five part-time drivers who are set to compete in this race, two are full-time road and street course drivers. These two drivers are Ed Carpenter Racing Scuderia Corsa’s Ed Jones and Carlin’s Max Chilton, and they are set to drive the #20 Chevrolet and the #59 Chevrolet, respectively.

The other three part-time drivers who are set to compete in this race are Charlie Kimball, Conor Daly and Jack Harvey.

Kimball has driven in six races, all for Carlin, so far this season, and he is once again set to drive the #23 Carlin Chevrolet in this race. Daly has driven in six races, including one for Andretti Autosport, four for Carlin and one for Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, so far this year. He is set to drive the #25 Andretti Autosport Honda for the second time this year.

Harvey has driven in nine races, all for Meyer Shank Racing with Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, so far this season, and is set to drive the #60 Meyer Shank Racing with Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda once again in this race.
