Daniel Ricciardo has been disqualified from qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix, the 15th race on the 2019 Formula 1 schedule.

Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo recorded a strong qualifying effort for the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay Street Circuit, the 15th of 21 races on the 2019 Formula 1 schedule.

Ricciardo qualified for this 61-lap race around the 23-turn, 3.146-mile (5.063-kilometer) Marina Bay Street Circuit temporary street circuit in Marina Bay, Singapore in eighth place by recording a top lap time of 98.095 seconds (115.455 miles per hour) in the third and final round of qualifying for this race.

But now he is slated to start the race from the pit lane in 20th (last) place.

Ricciardo was found to have exceeded his MGU-K power limit in the first of three rounds of qualifying for this race.

Teams are limited to deploying 120 kilowatts of the electrical power, roughly 160 brake horsepower, that is converted from energy generated under braking by the MGU-K.

This electrical power can be deployed directly to the drivetrain.

Here is what the race stewards’ report had to say about Ricciardo’s disqualification from qualifying, according to Formula 1.

"“It was established in the hearing, beyond any doubt in the opinion of the Stewards, that the competitor exceeded the MGU-K power flow limit permitted under Appendix 3, per Article 5.2.2 of the 2019 Formula One Technical Regulations.“The method by which this limit is regulated is well-known and understood by the teams. Neither the fact that the car had exceeded the limit nor the methodology by which it is policed was disputed by the team…The Stewards therefore order Car 3 disqualified from the results of Qualifying.”"

As a result, everybody who qualified behind Ricciardo is set to start one position ahead of where they qualified, beginning with teammate Nico Hulkenberg, who originally qualified in ninth place but was promoted to eighth.

McLaren rookie Lando Norris was promoted from 10th to ninth place while SportPesa Racing Point’s Sergio Perez was promoted into the top 10 from 11th to 10th.

Here is an updated starting lineup for the Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay Street Circuit.
