NASCAR: Daniel Hemric to Front Row Motorsports in 2020?
By Asher Fair
With Corey LaJoie rumored to return to Go Fas Racing for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season, is Daniel Hemric the top candidate to replace David Ragan at Front Row Motorsports?
Front Row Motorsports have not yet confirmed their driver lineup for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season, other than the fact that David Ragan, one of their three current drivers, will not be back next year.
Ragan announced in mid-August that he will be retiring from full-time competition once the 2019 season comes to an end next month.
There have been rumors that he would be replaced by current Go Fas Racing driver Corey LaJoie behind the wheel of the #38 Ford next season, as Go Fas Racing have been rumored to form a technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing.

Such a technical alliance would likely result in Stewart-Haas Racing promoting Xfinity Series driver Cole Custer to the Cup Series to replace LaJoie behind the wheel of the #32 Ford, provided that they maintain all four of the drivers who retain drive for them in the Cup Series.
So far, they have confirmed that three of these four drivers, Kevin Harvick, Aric Almirola and Clint Bowyer, are set to return next year, and the other one, Daniel Suarez, is reportedly nearing a contract extension.
But now LaJoie has been rumored to return to Go Fas Racing, even if they do end up forming a technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing, according to Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern.
Could this set up a move for Daniel Hemric to replace Ragan at Front Row Motorsports like Stern also suggested?
Hemric is in his rookie season driving for Richard Childress Racing, but the team have already confirmed that he is slated to be replaced by 2018 Xfinity Series champion Tyler Reddick behind the wheel of the #8 Chevrolet next year.
There have been three main rumored replacement candidates for Ragan in recent weeks. LaJoie is one of them while Hemric and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. are the other two.
But after Roush Fenway Racing announced that Chris Buescher is set to replace Stenhouse behind the wheel of the #17 Ford for the 2020 season, JTG Daugherty Racing announced that Stenhouse is set to replace Buescher behind the wheel of the #37 Chevrolet.
So if LaJoie stays put like he has been rumored to, the door could be open for Hemric to remain in the Cup Series with Front Row Motorsports.
Will Daniel Hemric replace David Ragan behind the wheel of the #38 Ford for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season? If not, who will be Ragan’s replacement at Front Row Motorsports, and where will Hemric end up?
